What I'm Reading

Here is what I'm reading, and a few thoughts about them:

The Divine Conspiracy, by Dallas Willard
So far, this book is one of the most readable and underlined books on Christianity that I own. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

East of Eden by John Steinback
I was burned by the "Red Pony" in middle school and have steered clear of Steinback since then. But a coworker encouraged me to give him another shot, so here we go...

A Confession and Other Religious Writings, by Leo Tolstoy
Dallas Willard called this probably the most significant book in understanding the state of spirituality in the west today.

Horse and Rider: Poems, by Melissa Range

An Anthology of Modern Urdu Poetry

The Rebel's Silhouette: Selected Poems, by Faiz Ahmed Faiz
Gut-wrenchingly beautiful so far. A new favorite of mine.

The NEW RELIGIOUS HUMANISTS, edited by Gregory Wolfe
A collection of essays that try to bridge the gap between writing and faith. They are sublime and tremendously thought provoking so far.

Writing the Australian Crawl, by William Stafford

The Mortification of Sin, by John Owen
Good for the soul in a different way than poetry and fiction.
